Experiencias Educar+e

  We started with the challenge “Productivity and economy" and the children of 3rd grade have been very excited about this topic. We have learned vocabularies such as: sale, services, products, supply, demand, expense, price, budget, investment, profit , among others. Just as we've also had discussions about economic inequality and how they could make products accessible to all social classes.  The children decided to start a brownie business as the final project of this challenge to test their productive and sales skills, as well they decided to cook the brownies themselves to complement their Science class where we learned the differences between a heterogeneous mixture and a homogeneous solution.  At this point of the challenge, we are in the stage of researching the prices of the products to purchase the ingredients to cook the brownies, and this week we are entering the advertising stage, where the kids have been creating banners to promote their brownies in Educare....

  In this challenge, the 4th graders explored different cultures and traditions from around the  world. They identified how diverse social interactions may impact their community. Moreover,  they became conscious of how diversity could enrich their own culture and the cultures of their  community and country.   As part of their final projects, the kids worked in teams to create a Cultural Fair where they  gathered information regarding the culture, traditions, celebrations, clothing, food, etc. about  different countries from each continent.   Finally, they presented their projects to their parents and peers. They brought to school  traditional clothing, food, and ornaments that helped them to explain the diversity and richness  of their assigned countries. Gabriela Hernández

Durante el reto 4 de Knotion, los alumnos de quinto grado analizaron la pregunta  principal: ¿Cómo puedo expresar mi cultura a través del arte?  Para esto se llevó a cabo primero un análisis de las costumbres y tradiciones que  reflejan la herencia cultural de nuestro país, a su vez, analizaron y compartieron  grupalmente cuáles eran las costumbres y tradiciones que han sido transmitidas de  generación en generación en sus familias.   A lo largo de estas semanas han reconocido también como el lenguaje, la comida y el  arte como: la música, la danza, la arquitectura, las pinturas, los murales, las esculturas,  entre otros; son formas artísticas de representar a nuestro país y nuestras tradiciones a  lo largo de la historia.   Finalmente con todo lo anterior, los alumnos, como parte de su cierre de reto la  siguiente semana, estarán expresando de forma artística ¿Qué significa para ellos ser  mexicanos? Por lo que deber...

  Since ancient times, art has always been present to express emotions and mark historical  events through painting, dancing, acting, songs and folk tales. Cave painting were one of the  first forms of art and they give extensive information about how life was back then. During this  challenge, fifth graders are having the opportunity to analyze how art has evolved and they  even got to create their own cave paintings using colored paper, similar to a rock or cave, chalk  dust form their colored pencils to make pigments. They couldn’t use their fingers, in order to  understand that in the past, no paint brushes existed, they painted with tools or with their  hands.   Students created their own cave painting with symbols, but the difference is that the symbols  needed to be modern to understand that art is associated with history, economics, politics and  social problems, according to a specific time and period.   The ...
